There were women only Cars on the trains we took in Mumbai. I never rode on one, wish I had now. I could have intereviewed the women! This is an enormous breakthrough for women's rights in India I believe. The sexism and harassment of younger women, both Indian & foreigners is very bad I've heard. I did not experience it as an older woman, but I didn't go out alone at night & I made sure to 'protect' my body somewhat in crowded metro (subway) trains in Delhi.
